Italy’s economy is mainly driven by the manufacturing sector which produces high quality consumer goods. These products are usually produced by smaller or medium enterprises and are primarily family based. Southern italy has a different route for their economy as they focus more on agriculture. The unemployment in this region of Italy is larger due to the few jobs available for agriculture. A great underground community exists in Italy and includes more agriculture in addition to the construction and service sectors. This community makes up for about 17% of the total GDP. Italy’s economy is a large one and is third largest in the Euro-zone.
